Are you looking for an evening's entertainment to raise funds for charity or to entertain your guests or residents? Would you like a lively, excellent value for money concert? Stockton Male Voice Choir can help you raise your urgently needed funds by providing live entertainment. The Choir is happy to take bookings for all types of events - large or small - public or private. We have experience performing in large venues such as the Stockton Baptist Tabernacle and also more intimate settings including the communal areas of retirement homes. We try to vary our programme to suit the needs of our audiences and welcome specific requests at the booking stage (however the ability to fulfill your requests may depend on the amount of rehearsals available until the concert). The choir generally perform in Black Tie, however can be dressed less formally to suit your occasion if required. We charge only a small fee for our services, payable on the night of the concert. The fee varies depending on the nature of the event but is important for the very survival of the choir and allows us to provide programmes and pay for insurance and music. However it is frequently the case that the choir members spend more on the raffle than we charge for the concert. For those who have the task of booking the entertainment, here are a few points to consider: In order to secure the date that you require (we need to co-ordinate around 30 people), please book as far in advance as possible. Even if its only to book the date and provide the other information later on, for example how long you would like the concert to be and any fixed times that we have to work around. We generally finish our concerts with our choir theme tune "Morte Christe" and also Jerusalem, however if you feel that you would either prefer hymns at the beginning of the concert instead or would like no religious music at all, please let us know. The choir is available for concerts during the day, however due to work commitments, we will be unable to supply a full choir for these performances. We usually have around 25 members at most concerts and whilst the do not always need seating, placing 25 chairs into the area that you would like us to perform will allow some indication of how much space we will need. It would be helpful if a member of the choir could view the venue prior to the week of the concert, this will allow us to plan and evaluate the usability of any piano or organ available. We do have our own keyboard, however most venues prefer us to use their own instruments. If a room could be made available for the choir to use before and during the concert, this would be greatly appreciated and allow us to present a more professional performance. We can design posters for the event and also supply programmes. Your concert will also be advertised on this internet site as well as others. Unfortunately the choir cannot assist in the sale of tickets or any further advertising. We generally feature one or more soloists in each concert to allow some variety in the evenings entertainment. These are usually members of the choir however they are sometimes invited guests. All suggestions of guest soloists are welcome, however the selection is at entirely at the discretion of the Musical Director.
