George Clarkson is a native of Kingston upon Hull, George started to learn the piano when he was 9. Three years later he appeared in public as accompanist for a local Concert Party. After National Service he was soon in demand as an accompanist for serious concerts, musical festivals, choral and G and S societies. He also played in Dance Bands and ran his own quartet as well as being the musical director of a large Scout Gang Show. He became a Church organist and has played the organ regularly for 42 years.

He has acted as guest organist at a number of churches and worked with the Stockton Male Voice Choir between September 2000 and January 2005.

His musical philosophy is based on a desire to extend the Choirs ability and repertoire; above all he strives to encourage both performers and audiences to enjoy music.
