About Us

The Stockton Male Voice Choir was formed in 1948 as a result of a meeting called by Alderman Lillystone who thought it was time that Stockton had a Male Voice Choir.   We still maintain strong links with the Borough and now wear the Stockton Borough Council Tie with our uniform and occasionally perform at the Mayor’s Inaugural and Remembrance Day Services.

As a registered charity, the choir exists with the aid of members’ subscriptions, voluntary donations and the modest fees levied for concerts, however, we always appreciate the support of Patrons in order to add to our range of music.   (For more information about becoming a patron, please contact our Patron’s Secretary Bob Bond on 01642  123456)

We have been very fortunate in our Musical Directors, having had just 5 in the 60 years history of the choir with the previous MD holding the post for the past five years until December 2009.   Our Deputy MD Peter Walker has been holding the fort for the past twelve months ably assisted by David Thompson, and we now are able to welcome Mrs Janet Howells as our new Musical Director with effect from Monday 10 January 2011.
